Guitar, Bass, Piano, Mandolin

Brian Clarke has been a musician since childhood. At the age of ten, he decided to pick up the guitar in order to play along with his friends. Throughout his middle school and high school years, Brian continued to take private lessons and perform at the School of Rock in Downingtown, PA. He also picked up the bass guitar along the way. After taking a Music Theory course in high school, Brian's eyes were opened to whole new world of music and songwriting.

Brian attended Shippensburg University, where he majored in Human Communications with a minor in Ethnic Studies, and continued to develop as a musician and performer. During his time in college, Brian started a band, played upright bass in the University Orchestra, played electric bass for the Theater's Pit Band, and volunteered to assist with an Intro to Guitar Class. In his spare time, Brian continued to study music theory and use it to further his knowledge of how to construct chords and scales and apply them to songwriting across a variety of genres. Over the last few years, Brian has continued playing in various bands and groups, including local community theater pit orchestras. He has also picked up the piano and mandolin, and teaches private lessons on all four instruments in addition to maintaining his performance schedule and writing his own music.

Brian believes there are many different approaches to learning and understanding music. He firmly believes that understanding one's instrument, and the terminology of modes, scales, chords and theory, are the fundamentals of being able to play music for yourself and with others.
