Guitar, Voice, Bass

Nathan's musical journey began at around age 13 when he saw a peer perform in a high-level tribute concert. He decided then and there that he wanted to pursue music and performance in a serious way. Throughout middle school and high school, Nathan played the guitar and sang in numerous shows with various groups. Nathan attended Goucher College in Maryland, where he earned his Bachelor's in Music. During his time at Goucher, he participated in numerous ensembles that ranged greatly in style. Nathan has an extensive collection of influences, enjoying music from many eras. His first exposure to guitar music came at a young age, when he listened to his father's selections, which included artists such as Eric Clapton, The Allman Brothers Band, Santana, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin, among others. While his initial foray into guitar was primarily based in Rock and Blues (like many), he has since incorporated elements of Funk, Jazz, Country, Soul, and Pop into his own signature style. Naturally, Nathan discovered a fusion band like Steely Dan, and they have become a lifelong favorite. Some of Nathan's favorite guitar players include Larry Carlton, Jon Herington, Robben Ford, John Scofield, Guthrie Govan, Tom Misch, John Mayer, Gary Moore, and many others.

Nathan has worked with a large number of remarkable teachers and mentors throughout the years, who are collectively responsible for the path he is currently on. Nathan emphasizes the importance of building an extensive yet basic vocabulary when starting music lessons. He feels that a common pitfall of much of modern music instruction is the inattention paid to being able to do simple things in myriad ways. When learning with Nathan, students will gain a genuine understanding of fundamental musical concepts, allowing them to experience freedom and creativity sooner. Nathan has been teaching music and performing in the Philadelphia area since graduating from Goucher in 2017. Through his teaching and performances, Nathan continues to inspire others with his dedication to music, blending deep technical knowledge with a genuine passion for creativity and expression.
