Brian studied Music Business & Technologies at Millersville University, where he graduated in 2013. During his time in school, he helped instruct the Lancaster Percussion ensemble, under the guidance of professor James Armstrong.

In 2012, Brian was a founding member of the percussion group Portal Percussion, a group dedicated to the performance of chamber percussion music, music education, and community involvement. Portal has performed at numerous Percussive Arts Society (PAS) events, including a solo performance at the Western New York Day of Percussion (2013), and a solo concert at the Pennsylvania's Day of Percussion (2014). Most recently, they performed as the featured soloists playing Stubernic Fantasy, music for wind ensemble and marimba trio, with the Franklin & Marshall Wind Ensemble(2014). In the spring of 2015 Portal plans to debut Colleen Clark's vibraphone concerto for percussion trio.

Working with Portal Percussion, they created, Our Language of Music, a clinic which reinforces concepts taught in the classroom. This clinic is underwritten by Music For Everyone (MFE). Additionally, Brian has also worked closely with Scaling Walls A Note At a Time (SWAN), a non-profit which provides music lessons to students who have parents with a history of incarceration.

For the last five years, Brian has been teaching private drum set and percussion lessons at Drums Etc. in Lancaster, PA. He is an active drummer playing with multiple groups, most notably Chaos Thompson (2011-2013), a funk/fusion group and Morse Coda (2012-present) who released their EP (2014), and is currently working on their first full-length album.

In November of 2014 Brian signed as an artist with the Vic Firth stick company.

As a private instructor, Brian believes that there is no rubber stamp method to teach each student. He works to understand the students musical interests and gears exercises towards tangible goals. His goal as a teacher is to give his knowledge to those who want to learn and to create a positive learning environment.
