Vincent Tauriello grew up in a musical family whose love of music was passed on to him from an early age.  His father was a lover of jazz and exposed young Vinny to the greats such as Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clark, Oscar Peterson, and Art Tatum.  His mother and father shared a love for great singers like Shirley Bassey, Frank Sinatra, and Barbra Streisand, whose voices often filled the home. Vinny's older sisters added to his music appreciation with great classic rock bands such as Yes and Pink Floyd. Later on, in his college years, Vinny was exposed to the great classical composers and compositions, completing his well-rounded musical education.

During his teen years, Vinny began singing in school choirs and musicals and in original rock bands.  It was those experiences that led him to find his own voice and to pursue a music degree.  He holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, where he studied voice with Dr. Robert C. White, Jr.  During his undergraduate years, he performed extensively as a tenor soloist, in vocal ensembles and choirs, in original rock bands, sang pop, performed musical theatre, and even sang in opera studio.  He studied composition and songwriting under Gilbert Mora at the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music. Vinny has now been writing music for over 30 years, and has performed as a vocal soloist and keyboardist in churches and as a lead singer and keyboardist in bands.

Vinny began his music teaching career while still in college, providing voice and piano lessons at the Floral Park Music Center in New York as well as in his own private music teaching business.  He continued his teaching career while pursuing a Master’s of Divinity degree, during which time he also continued to perform and compose.  Vinny loves working with students who are hungry to learn and grow as musicians and in their love for music.  He is classically trained as a vocalist and enjoys working with beginners who want to learn the art and craft of singing and develop their voice.  His specialty is working with singer/songwriters, musical theater artists, church soloists, and those who want coaching in delivering a powerful singing performance.  He also enjoys working with piano students who want to learn how to play chords, how to improvise, and how to compose.  He is adept at teaching music theory.

As a dedicated teacher and lifelong lover of music, Vinny's goal is to pass on that love to his students as he helps them to grow in musical skill and artistry.
